スミレ科 (スミレか、Violaceae) は、被子植物の科の1つで、スミレやパンジー、ニオイスミレなどを含むもの。
形態・分布
[編集]木本あるいは草本。葉は互生し托葉がある。花は左右相称または放射相称、がく・花弁（合着しない）・雄ずいが各5個、子房は多くは3心皮で側膜胎座。果実は蒴果または液果。

[編集]15-20属800-900種、そのなかでスミレ属 (Viola) が最大の属で400-500種を占める。寒帯・温帯はスミレ属が圧倒的に多く、熱帯にはその他多数の属がある。3亜科に分けられ、さらに連・亜連に分けられる。
