L'ufficio del primo ministro (altrimenti detto presidenza del consiglio, cancelleria o gabinetto) è l'ufficio formato dai più stretti collaboratori del primo ministro.
Ove il capo del governo coincide con il capo di Stato, viene anche detto ufficio del presidente.
Funzioni
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Strutturato analogamente ad un ministero, supporta il primo ministro o presidente nell'esercizio delle sue funzioni, svolge attività di raccordo tra i vari ministeri e supporta il funzionamento del consiglio dei ministri.
È solitamente diretto da un capo di gabinetto (in inglese chief of staff).
