Tata nama IUPAC
Tata nama IUPAC adalah sistem penamaan senyawa kimia dan penjelasan ilmu kimia secara umum. Tata nama ini dikembangkan dan dimutakhirkan di bawah pengawasan International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC).
Aturan penamaan senyawa organik (tatanama organik) dan inorganik (tatanama anorganik) dimuat dalam dua publikasi, yang dikenal dengan nama Blue Book [1] dan Red Book.[2] Publikasi ketiga, yang dikenal dengan nama Green Book,[3] memuat rekomendasi untuk penggunaan simbol untuk kuantitas fisik (dengan bekerja sama dengan IUPAP). Sementara itu, buku keempat, Gold Book,[4] memuat definisi dari banyak istilah teknis yang digunakan dalam kimia. Terdapat pula publikasi serupa untuk biokimia [5] (dengan kerja sama dengan IUBMB), kimia analitik,[6] serta kimia makromolekular.[7] Semua publikasi ini didukung oleh rekomendasi yang lebih pendek untuk kondisi spesifik yang dipublikasikan secara berkala dalam jurnal Pure and Applied Chemistry.
