Dalam Buddhisme, lima kekuatan atau pañcabala (Pali; Sanskerta: पञ्चबल pañcabala) adalah kekuatan-kekuatan yang didasarkan pada lima faktor mental yang menguatkan batin.[1][2] Kekuatan dianggap sebagai lawan atau penangkal pañca-nīvaraṇa (lima rintangan batin). Lima kekuatan tersebut adalah:

  1. Kekuatan keyakinan atau iman (Pāli: saddhā-bala; Sanskerta: śraddhā-bala)
  2. Kekuatan semangat atau energi (Pāli: viriya-bala; Sanskerta: vīrya-bala)
  3. Kekuatan perhatian-penuh (Pāli: sati-bala; Sanskerta: smṛti-bala)
  4. Kekuatan konsentrasi atau semadi (Pāli: samādhi-bala; Sanskerta: samādhi-bala)
  5. Kekuatan kebijaksanaan (Pāli: paññā-bala; Sanskerta: prajñā-bala)

Dalam Saṁyutta Nikāya 48.43, Sang Buddha menyatakan bahwa pañcabala disebut juga sebagai "lima kemampuan spiritual". Beliau menggunakan metafora sungai yang melewati pulau di tengah sungai; pulau ini menciptakan dua aliran sungai, tetapi aliran sungai tersebut juga dapat dilihat sebagai satu aliran sungai yang sama.[3] Kitab komentar Pāli menyatakan bahwa kelima kualitas ini adalah "kemampuan" ketika digunakan untuk mengendalikan lingkup pengaruhnya, dan merupakan "kekuatan" ketika tidak tergoyahkan oleh kekuatan-kekuatan yang berlawanan.[4]
