Negeri Rendah
Negeri Rendah (bahasa Belanda: de Lage Landen atau Nederlanden, bahasa Prancis: les Pays-Bas, bahasa Inggris: Low Countries) adalah sebuah wilayah pesisir di Eropa barat yang terdiri dari Belanda, Belgia, dan wilayah delta sungai Rhine, Meuse, Scheldt, dan Ems dengan ketinggian tepat atau di bawah permukaan laut.[1][2] Wilayah ini terbentang dari Gravelines dan Dunkirk di Prancis di titik barat daya, wilayah Delfzijl Belanda dan Frisia Timur Jerman di titik timur laut, dan Luksemburg dan Thionville Prancis di titik tenggara.
Sebagian besar Negeri Rendah adalah wilayah pesisir yang berbatasan dengan Laut Utara atau Selat Inggris. Negara-negara yang tidak memiliki akses ke laut telah membuat ikatan politik atau ekonomi dengan wilayah yang memiliki akses.
Bahasa-bahasa Jermanik seperti bahasa Belanda dan Luksemburg adalah bahasa yang paling dominan di wilayah ini, meskipun bahasa-bahasa Roman juga berpengaruh. Bahasa kedua di wilayah ini meliputi bahasa Prancis (Luksemburg, Brabant di sekitaran Nivelles), wilayah-wilayah Belgia yang memakai bahasa Roman (seperti Keuskupan Liège), Flanders Roman (seperti Cambrai, Lille, Tournai), dan Namur (Wallonia).
