Nasionalisme Afrikaner

Nasionalisme Afrikaner (bahasa Afrikaans: Afrikaner Volkseenheid) adalah ideologi politik yang berkembang pada akhir abad ke-19 di kalangan Afrikaner di Afrika Selatan. Ideologi ini sangat dipengaruhi sentimen anti-Britania yang tumbuh di dalam masyarakat Afrikaner, khususnya karena Peperangan Boer.[1] Nasionalisme Afrikaner menegaskan persatuan seluruh orang berkulit putih yang menuturkan bahasa Afrikaans, Volk (bangsa), melawan elemen-elemen "asing" seperti orang kulit hitam, Yahudi, dan warga Afrika Selatan penutur bahasa Inggris.[2]

Menurut sejarawan T. Dunbar Moodie, nasionalisme Afrikaner dapat dijelaskan sebagai jenis agama sipil yang menggabungkan sejarah Afrikaner, bahasa mereka, dan Calvinisme Afrikaner sebagai simbol-simbol utamanya. Pengusung pertama ideologi ini adalah organisasi rahasia Broederbond dan Partai Nasional yang berkuasa sejak 1948 sampai 1994.[3] Organisasi lain yang sama-sama berpaham nasionalis Afrikaner adalah Federation of Afrikaans Cultural Organisations (Federasie van Afrikaanse Kultuurvereniginge , FAK), Institute for Christian National Education, dan White Workers' Protection Association.[4]
