Opisthoproctidae atau dalam bahasa Inggris disebut dengan ikan mata-gentong adalah famili ikan laut dalam kecil dalam ordo argentiniformes, yang terdiri dari ikan yang ditemukan di perairan tropis hingga sedang di Samudra Atlantik, Pasifik, dan Hindia.[2][3][4]
Ikan ini dinamai demikian karena matanya yang berbentuk tong dan berbentuk tabung, yang umumnya mengarah ke atas untuk mendeteksi siluet mangsa yang tersedia. Ikan juga dapat mengarahkan matanya ke depan. Nama Opisthoproctidae berasal dari kata Yunani opisthe ("di belakang") dan proktos ("anus").
