Herman Jacob Mankiewicz (/ˈmæŋkəwɪts/; 7 November 1897 – 5 Maret 1953) adalah seorang penulis naskah asal Amerika Serikat. Bersama dengan Orson Welles, ia menulis skenario untuk Citizen Kane (1941). Pada masa sebelumnya, ia menjadi koresponden Berlin untuk Women’s Wear Daily,[1] asisten penyunting teater di The New York Times,[1] dan kritikus drama reguler pertama di The New Yorker.[1][2][3][4] Alexander Woollcott berkata bahwa Herman Mankiewicz adalah "pria terlucu di New York".[5] Mankiewicz dan Welles meraih Academy Awards untuk skenario mereka.[6]
