Geoffrey Chaucer (kemungkinan besar London, 1343 – 25 Oktober 1400) adalah seorang sastrawan, penyair, filsuf, diplomat dan birokrat Inggris. Ia sering kali disebut sebagai bapak Sastra Inggris. Meski Chaucer menulis banyak karya, karyanya yang ternama adalah cerita bingkainya The Canterbury Tales yang tidak selesai. Ia kadang kala dianggap sebagai penulis pertama yang menunjukkan kekuatan bahasa Inggris untuk menulis karya sastra dan tidak menggunakan bahasa Prancis atau bahasa Latin.
Menurut catatan resmi, ia meninggal dunia pada 1400 dan dimakamkan di Westminster Abbey.[1]
