Fluida non-Newtonian atau zat alir bukan Newton adalah zat alir dengan gradien kecepatan yang mempengaruhi koefisien kekentalan.[1] Garis lengkung tegangannya tidak linier sehingga tidak memenuhi kriteria hukum gerak Newton dalam linierisasi. Penerapan gaya pada fluida non-Newtonian menghasilkan kekentalan tanpa tetapan. Jenis-jenis fluida non-Newtonian yaitu fluida viskoelastis, fluida pseudoplastik, fluida reopektik, dan fluida tiksotropik.[2]
