David II (Gaelik Abad Pertengahan: Daibhidh a Briuis, Gaelik Modern: Dàibhidh Bruis; Prancis Norman: Dauid de Brus, Skotlandia Awal: Dauid Brus; 5 Maret 1324 – 22 Februari 1371) adalah Raja Skotlandia dari 1329 sampai ia meninggal, dan anggota laki-laki terakhir dari Wangsa Bruce. Meskipun David menjalani periode panjang dalam pengasingan atau pembuangan, ia memantau upaya Inggris untuk menganeksasi kerajaannya, dan meninggalkan monarki tersebut dalam posisi yang kuat.
Kehidupan awal
[sunting | sunting sumber]David II adalah anak sulung dan putra tunggal dari pasangan Robert I dari Skotlandia dan istri keduanya, Elizabeth de Burgh. Ia lahir pada 5 Maret 1324 di Pertapaan Dunfermline, Fife. Ibunya wafat pada 1327.[2] Sesuai dengan isi Traktat Northampton,[3] David menikah pada 17 Juli 1328 dengan Joan dari Menara, putri dari Edward II dari Inggris dan Isabella dari Prancis, di Berwick-upon-Tweed. Mereka tidak punya anak.[4]
