Candida theae adalah spesies ragi dalam genus Candida. Nama spesies ini berarti "teh".[2] Spesies ini pertama kali diisolasi dari minuman teh Indonesia[1] dan pot tanah liat di Quito, Ekuador yang berisi chicha dari AD 680.[2]

But careful genetic analysis showed that two strains of yeast were a new species of Candida, which he named C. theae, meaning "tea."
