Bukminsterfulerena adalah molekul bundar dengan rumus C60. Molekul ini ditemukan pada tahun 1985 oleh Harold Kroto, James Heath, Sean O'Brien, Robert Curl, dan Richard Smalley.[2] Nama bukminsterfulerena berasal dari Richard Buckminster Fuller, yang telah membangun kubah geodesik dengan bentuk yang mirip. Molekul ini merupakan molekul fulerena pertama yang ditemukan, dan juga yang paling banyak ditemui di alam.[3][4][5]

Bukminsterfulerena adalah materi terbesar yang menunjukkan dualitas gelombang-partikel.[6]
