Bothidae atau flounder mata kiri adalah salah satu keluarga ikan sebelah. Mereka disebut "flounder mata kiri" karena sebagian besar spesiesnya berbaring di dasar laut pada sisi kanannya, dengan kedua mata di sisi kirinya.[1] Keluarga ikan ini juga dicirikan dengan adanya duri di moncong dan dekat mata.[2] Ukuran ikan ini sangat bervariasi di antara lebih dari 160 spesies, mulai dari panjang 4,5 cm hingga 1,5 m.[2]
