Publius Aelius Aristides Theodorus (bahasa Yunani: Αἴλιος Ἀριστείδης; 117–181 M) adalah seorang orator dan penulis Romawi yang dianggap sebagai salah satu contoh penulis dari Gerakan Sofistik Kedua, yaitu sekelompok orator yang sangat berpengaruh yang berkiprah dari masa kekuasaan Kaisar Nero hingga sekitar tahun 230 M. Terdapat lebih dari 50 karyanya yang masih bertahan hingga kini, yang berasal dari masa kekuasaan Kaisar Antoninus Pius dan Marcus Aurelius. Kesuksesannya sebagai seorang orator sempat terganggu oleh penyakit-penyakit yang berusaha ia sembuhkan dengan tidur di tempat suci Dewa Asclepius dan menafsirkan mimpi-mimpinya saat tidur di tempat tersebut. Ia kemudian mencatat pengalaman ini di dalam sejumlah diskursus yang dikenal dengan sebutan Kisah-Kisah Suci (Hieroi Logoi). Pada masa akhir kehidupannya, ia meneruskan kariernya sebagai seorang orator, dan ia sangat sukses hingga Philostratus menyatakan bahwa "Dari antara semua sofis, Aristides adalah yang paling ulung.”[1]
