Please do not subst: this template.

This template can be placed at the top of the article, at the top of one of its sections, or less obtrusively at the top of the "References" section.

The simplest way to add this template to an article is to copy and paste ((Citations missing|article|date=सितंबर 2024)) at the top of the article.

This template has two optional fields.

The first permits the user to specify what needs to be cited. For instance, if the entire article needs to be cited, a user would enter ((Citations missing|article)); but should the user wish to be more specific on which section of the article needs to be cited, then the user could enter ((Citations missing|section called "Childhood")). Leaving the parameter undefined is acceptable, as it will print out the default text "article or section."

The second field is a date parameter, entered as "date=monthname year". If the date parameter is omitted, a bot will add it later.

Note that order does not matter with respect to the above optional parameters. Both ((Citations missing|section|date=सितंबर 2024)) and ((Citations missing|date=सितंबर 2024|section)) will produce the same result.

This template will categorise tagged articles into Category:All articles with unsourced statements and either Category:Articles with unsourced statements or a monthly category like Category:Articles with unsourced statements from सितंबर 2024, if a date is supplied.

This template is a self-reference.

Alternative templates

[संपादित करें]

There are several other templates for tagging article which lack references and / or footnotes. You may wish to consider a more specifically worded template, given the brevity of this one:

References[1]/Footnotes[2] Sufficient Footnotes Insufficient Footnotes No Footnotes
Sufficient References ((More footnotes)) ((No footnotes))
Insufficient References ((Refimprove)) ((Refimprove)) + ((More footnotes)) ((Refimprove)) + ((No footnotes))
No References ((Unreferenced))
  1. Meaning the list of works cited at the end and/or the output of the <references /> tag
  2. Like this one, but they actually have to have links to sources in them, or at least a URI for them, such as an ISBN.
