यज़त
यज़त पारसी धर्म (ज़र्थुष्टी धर्म) में उन देवता-जसी हस्तियों को कहते हैं जो पूजा के योग्य हैं। पारसी धर्मग्रन्थ अवेस्ता में विभिन्न यज़तों का उल्लेख मिलता है। सांझी आर्य धरोहर के कारण इनमें से कई यज़त वैदिक धर्म के देवताओं से मिलते-जुलते हैं लेकिन कुछ उन से भिन्न भी हैं। यज़तों की अच्छी शक्तियाँ पारसी धर्म के सर्वशक्तिमान ईश्वर अहुर मज़्द की अलग-अलग शक्तियों के पहलू समझे जाते हैं। इन्हें फ़रिश्तों के रूप में भी देखा जाता है।[1][2]
नामोत्पत्ति
[संपादित करें]'यज़त' का मतलब है 'पूजा योग्य'। क्योंकि अवस्ताई भाषा और संस्कृत दोनों हिन्द-ईरानी भाषा-परिवार की बहन भाषाएँ हैं इसलिये इनमें बहुत से सजातीय शब्द मिलते हैं और यह भी उनमें से एक है। 'यज़्' शब्द संस्कृत में 'यज्' रूप में मिलता है, जिस से हिन्दू-धर्म से सम्बन्धित 'यजति' (यानि 'वह पूजता है') व 'यज्ञ' ('पूजा संस्कार') निकलते हैं।
