मोंगके ख़ान
मोंगके ख़ान (मंगोल: Мөнх хаан, मोन्ख़ ख़ान; अंग्रेज़ी: Mongke Khan; १० जनवरी १२०९ – ११ अगस्त १२५९) मंगोल साम्राज्य का चौथा ख़ागान (सबसे बड़ा ख़ान शासक) था। उसने १ जुलाई १२५१ से ११ अगस्त १२५९ में हुई अपनी मृत्यु तक शासन किया। मोंगके ख़ान मंगोल साम्राज्य से संस्थापक चंगेज़ ख़ान का पोता और उसके सबसे छोटे बेटे तोलुइ ख़ान का बेटा था। उसकी माता सोरग़ोग़तानी बेकी (तोलुइ ख़ान की पत्नी) ने उसे और उसके भाइयों को बहुत निपुणता से पाला और परवारिक परिस्थितियों पर ऐसा नियंत्रण रखा कि मोंगके मंगोल साम्राज्य का ख़ागान बन सका। मोंगके के नेतृत्व में मंगोलों ने ईराक और सीरिया पर आक्रमण करके उन्हें अपने राज का हिस्सा बनाया। आधुनिक वियतनाम और (दक्षिणी चीन स्थित) नानझाओ राज्य भी मंगोलों के अधीन लाया गया। मोंग्के की मृत्यु के बाद उसका भाई कुबलई ख़ान साम्राज्य का अगला ख़ागान बना।[1][2]
