પશ્તૂન (ઉચ્ચાર: /ˈpʌʃˌtʊn/ કે /ˈpæʃˌtuːn/, પશ્તો: پښتانه પખ્તૂના; એકવચન નરજાતિ: پښتون પખ્તૂન, નારીજાતિ: پښتنه પખ્તના; પખ્તૂન પણ), ઐતિહાસિક રીતે અફઘાન (ફારસી: افغان, Afğān),[૧૧][૧૨] અને પઠાણ (હિંદુસ્તાની: پٹھان, पठान, Paṭhān),[૧૩][૧૪] એ એક ઈરાની વંશીય જૂથ છે જે મુખ્યત્વે દક્ષિણ અને મધ્ય એશીયામાં આવેલું પશ્તૂનિસ્તાન ક્ષેત્રમાં વસે છે, આ ક્ષેત્ર મોજૂદા દેશ અફઘાનિસ્તાન અને પાકિસ્તાનના ઉત્તર-પશ્ચિમી ભાગમાં આવેલો ખૈબર પખ્તૂનખ્વા સૂબો વચ્ચે ફેલાય છે.[૧૫]
તેઓ પશ્તો ભાષા બોલે છે અને "પશ્તૂનવલી"ની ખાસ માર્ગદર્શક વ્યક્તિગત અને કોમી ફિલસૂફી મુજબ પોતાના જીવન વિતાવે છે. પશ્તૂન લોકોનું મૂળ અજાણ્યું છે, પણ કેટલુંક ઇતિહાસકારો માને છે કે પશ્તૂન લોકોના પ્રારંભિક પૂર્વજો પહેલી કે બીજી સહસ્ત્રાબ્દીના પ્રાચીન પખથા લોકો (પેક્ટેયન) હોઈ શકે છે.
