ગરુડ પુરાણ હિંદુ ધર્મના ૧૮ પુરાણોમાંનું એક પુરાણ છે. તે વૈષ્ણવ સંપ્રદાયના સાહિત્યનો ભાગ છે,^[૧] જેમાં મોટાભાગે વિષ્ણુની પ્રશંસા કરવામાં આવી છે.^[૨] આ ગ્રંથની સૌ પ્રથમ આવૃત્તિ ઇ.સ. પૂર્વે ૧૦૦૦ની આસપાસ રચવામાં આવી હતી એવું મનાય છે,^[૩] પરંતુ પાછળથી તેનું વિસ્તરણ અને ફેરફાર થયા છે.^[૪][૫]

ગરુડ પુરાણની અનેક આવૃત્તિ જોવા મળે છે, જેમાં ૧૬૦૦૦ શ્લોકોનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.^[૫][૬]
