XLR

Conectores XLR3, macho e femia.

O XLR é un tipo de conector eléctrico, tamén chamado cannon en referencia ao seu creador James H. Cannon, da Cannon Electric dos Ánxeles (actualmente parte da ITT Corporation). Emprégase amplamente na cablaxe de instrumentos profesionais de son e vídeo, para os micrófonos e para sinais de liña (CD, amplificador...) Nos aparellos domésticos normalmente empréganse outro tipo de conectores.

Primeiramente era coñecido como Cannon X, logo engadíuselle un peche (latch) (Cannon XL) e despois unha goma (rubber), quedando así co nome de XLR.[1] Normalmente fálase do XLR-3 en referencia o 3 ao número de pins que leva, pero o número destes pode variar. O XLR3 emprégase universalmente para a conexión de sinal balanceado.
