The Scientists é unha influente banda de post-punk procedente de Perth, Australia, liderada por Kim Salmon e inicialmente coñecida coma Exterminators e despois por Invaders. A banda tivo dúas encarnacións principais: a punk baseada en Perth a finais dos 70 e a swamp rock baseada en Sydney/Londres dos 80. The Scientists foi moito máis influente que o que o seu escaso éxito comercial pode indicar, influenciando a grupos coma Mudhoney e a artistas da escena indie de Nova York de principios dos 90.
