Subutai (en mongol clásico: Sübügätäi ou Sübü'ätäi; en tuva: Сүбэдэй; mongol moderno: Сүбээдэй, Sübedei; chinés: 速不台) nado en 1176 e finado en 1248, foi o principal estratego e tenente de Xenxis Kan e de Ögödei Khan. Axudou a Gengis Khan coas súas campañas militares en Mongolia, a China, Asia central e leste de Europa. Posteriormente, baixo Ögödei, dirixiu ás forzas mongois na súa máxima expansión cara a occidente e o centro de Europa.
Algúns historiadores afirman que Gengis Khan, receloso do incremento do seu poder, solicitou o seu regreso á capital do Imperio Mongol. Isto queda en dúbida polo feito de que Subutai estivo a mandar continuamente os exércitos mongois en campañas a partir da época do mesmo Gengis Khan, até case o ano da súa morte en 1248. Tamén invadiu Crimea, o Rus de Kíiv, Bulgaria do Volga, Bohemia, Turquía, e Hungría con Batu Khan.
