Músculo pectoral maior
O músculo pectoral maior é un músculo do membro superior humano pertencente á rexión axilar. É o meirande músculo da parede axilar anterior. O bordo inferior sitúase no pregamento axilar anterior. O músculo dispón de dúas porcións:
- unha porción clavicular
- unha porción esternocostal, que se orixina na parte interna da parede torácica.
- nalgunhas ocasións, existen febras de inserción na parede abdominal anterior, existindo unha terceira porción: a abdominal.
O músculo insírese na crista do tubérculo maior do suco intertubercular do úmero.
As funcións do músculo abranguen a flexión, adución e rotación do brazo na articulación glenoumeral. A porción clavicular flexiona o brazo dende unha posición de extensión, mentres que a porción esternocostal esténdeo dende unha posición flexionada.
