A dos lolixínidos (Loliginidae) é, para algúns autores, unha familia de moluscos cefalópodos coleoideos decabraquios da orde dos téutidos, e suborde dos miopsinos.[1]

Porén, para outros, pertence á orde dos miópsidos, da superorde dos decapodiformes[2]

Descrición

A familia foi descrita en 1821 polo naturalista francés Charles Alexandre Lesueur,[2] na súa obra "Description of several new species of Cuttle-fish". Journal of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia 2 (1): 86-101.[3]

Etimoloxía

O nome da familia, Loliginidae, fórmase, como é habitual, engadíndolle á raíz do seu xémero tipo, Loligo, a desinencia do latín científico -ĭdae, propia dos nomes das familias de animais.
