O n'ko está clasificado como "en estado seguro" polo Libro Vermello das Linguas Ameazadas da UNESCO[1]

O n'ko (en n'ko: ߒߞߏ) é unha koiné estandarizada e unificada das diversas linguas mandinga escrita en alfabeto n'ko. É empregada en Guinea, Malí, Costa do Marfil, Burkina Faso e outros países de África Occidental, mais non exclusivamente de forma escrita, mentres que na fala real, úsanse as diferentes variedades mandinga: maninka, bambara, diula entre outras.

É un rexistro literario cunha gramática prescritiva coñecida como "kángbɛ" ("linguaxe clara") codificada por Solomana Kante, sobre a variedade màninkamóri falada na rexión nativa de Kante, Kankan, servindo como dialecto intelixible.[2][3][4][5]

Valentin Vydrin en 1999[6] e Coleman Donaldson en 2019[4] indicaron que a popularidade de escribir as linguas mandinga na forma estandarizada n'ko está a medrar. Esta forma escrita estandarizada úsase cada vez máis para a educación dos falantes das diferentes variedades.[7] Tamén é de uso común nas comunicacións electrónicas.[8]
