A lingua micmac[4] é unha lingua algonquina oriental falada por 7 345 membros do pobo micmac do Canadá e dos Estados Unidos, sobre un total de poboación étnica micmac que rolda as 20 000 persoas.[5][6] O termo micmac provén do termo plural para 'meus amigos' (en singular Míkm[7]); a forma adxectival é Míkmaw.[8] O nome nativo da lingua é lnuismk, míkmawísimk[9] ou míkmwei[7] (nalgúns dialectos).
