A lingua betawi, ou tamén coñecido como malaio de Iacarta ou malaio betawi, é unha lingua falada polo pobo betawi en Iacarta, Indonesia. É a lingua nativa de arredor de 5 millóns de persoas; un número preciso é difícil de determinar debido ao uso vago do nome. O malayo betawi é unha lingua informal popular na Indonesia contemporánea, que se usa como base do argot indonesio e que se fala habitualmente nas telenovelas de Iacarta e nalgúns debuxos animados (por exemplo, Adit Sopo Jarwo).[2] O nome "betawi" provén de Batavia, o nome oficial de Iacarta durante a era das Indias Orientais Neerlandesas. O indonesio coloquial de Iacarta, unha forma vernácula do indonesio que se estendeu dende Iacarta a grandes áreas de Xava e substituíu os dialectos malaios existentes, ten as súas raíces no malaio betawi. Segundo Uri Tadmor, non hai unha fronteira clara que distinga o indonesio coloquial de Iacarta do malaio betawi.[3]
