Célula falánxica externa

As células falánxicas externas ou células de Deiters son células de sostén que forman parte do órgano de Corti do oído interno. A súa función é soster as tres ou catro ringleiras de células ciliadas externas sensoriais do oído. Son células altas cilíndricas, que teñen a base apoiada na membrana basilar. Pola súa parte superior rodean a base das células ciliadas e as fibras nerviosas que chegan a ditas células, polo que por esta parte non chegan á superficie do órgano de Corti, pero pola parte lateral teñen unha fina prolongación con microtúbulos, que chega á superficie de dito órgano, onde forma unha placa apical plana ancha, que conecta coa ringleira adxacente de células ciliadas, que forma parte da lámina reticular. A parte superior destas células dá ao espazo de Nuel.[1]
