Aristotelismo

Aristotelismo é o nome de calquera corrente filosófica que segue o pensamento do filósofo da antiga Grecia Aristóteles (384322 a.C.), especialmente dos filósofos Avicena e Averroes, e despois progresivamente adoptada nos séculos XII e XIII pola escolástica, grazas á reconciliación da filosofía de Aristóteles e o cristianismo por Tomé de Aquino.

O termo aristotélico pode empregarse no sentido de "comentarista das obras de Aristóteles" (ben sexan de aristotélicos como Alexandre de Afrodisia ou Averroes, ou neoplatónicos como Amonio de Hermia, ou Simplicio de Cilicia).
