Fine mhór ilghnéitheach d'fheithidí is ea na Miridae (tráth, mar Capsidae).[1] Is féidir tagairt a dhéanamh don speiceas mar fhríd chaipsideach. I measc na n-ainmneacha coitianta a tugtar orthu bíonn frídí (nó feithidí) plandaí, duilleacha, agus féir. Is í an fhine is mó d'fhíor-fheithidí bainteach leis an fho-ord Heteroptera; a chuimsíonn os cionn 10,000 speiceas ar eolas, agus bíonn cinn nua eile á cur leo i gcónaí. Bíonn an chuid is mó de na miridigh aitheanta go forleathan mar lotnaidí talmhaíochta Speicis iad a phollann fíocháin na bplandaí, a bheathaíonn ar shú glasraí, agus uaireanta a tharchurann galair víreasacha plandaí. Mar sin féin, bíonn roinnt speiceas creachóireach.

Is feithidi beaga talún iad na Miridae, de ghnáth ubhchruthach nó fadaithe le tomhas níos lú ná 12 milliméadar ar fhad. Bíonn cruit ar go leor acu, mar gheall ar chruth an phrótóracs, a iompraíonn an ceann cromtha síos. Tá cuid acu gheal dháite agus patrúnaithe go tarraingteach, cinn eile liathdhonn nó dorcha, an chuid is mó neamhfheiceálach. Déanann roinnt géineas aithris ar na seangáin, ag céimeanna áirithe den saol. Ní bhíonn aon súileog nó ocelli acu. Tá ceithre dheighleoga ag a rostrm. Is gné úsáideach d'fhonn baill den fhine a aithint ná láithreacht an cuneus, se sin rinn triantánach an chóiriam, cuid cheiritineach daingean den an sciathán tosaigh, an hemelytron. Bíonn an cuneus le feiceáil sna Miridae go léir beagnach, agus ní bhíonn sé ach ag chúpla Hemiptera eile, go háirithe i bhfine na nAnthocoridae, nach bhfuil mórán mar mar an gcéanna leis na Miridae ar bhealaí eile. Bíonn,i gcónaí, trí dheighleoga sna tarsais.[2]
