Le safaliba est une langue gour parlée dans l’ouest du district de Bole dans la région du Nord au Ghana.

Une orthographe safaliba utilisant l’alphabet latin est développée par Edmun Kunji Yakubu, un activiste safaliba, en 1996. L’orthographe est réformée entre 1999 et 2003 par Paul Schaefer et Jennifer Schaefer[2],[1].
