Säe on runon tai sävellyksen osa. Se koostuu toisiinsa liittyvistä sanoista tai sävelistä. Usea peräkkäinen säe muodostaa säkeistön.
Runosäkeessä on tavallisesti yksi lause tai itsenäinen ajatuksellinen ilmaisu. Runosäkeet voivat muodostaa ketjussa loogisesti etenevän ilmaisun tai ne voivat olla itsenäisiä. Perinteisessä runoudessa säkeet noudattavat yleensä jotain runomittaa ja koostuvat runojaloista (tai metroneista).
