Purmerend on kunta ja kaupunki Alankomaissa, Pohjois-Hollannin provinssissa. Se sai kaupunginoikeudet vuonna 1410. Kaupunki on tunnettu muun muassa karjamarkkinoistaan. 1960-luvulta lähtien Purmerend on laajentunut voimakkaasti, monet lähiöt ovat syntyneet Amsterdamin kasvun ja siitä johtuvan asuntopulan tarpeisiin.

Purmerendissa on noin 80 000 asukasta.[1]
