Keskipilvi on noin 2 400–6 000 metrin korkeudessa oleva pilvi. Keskipilviä ovat verhopilvi (Altostratus), hahtuvapilvi (Altocumulus) ja laaja sadepilvi (Nimbostratus). Keskipilvet saattavat olla tropiikissa korkeammalla kuin ylemmillä leveysasteilla.

Keskipilvet saattavat sataa, mutta vain harvoin maahan asti, niiden sade haihtuu jo matkalla. Verhopilvi ennustaa tihetessään sateen melko pikaista alkamista lämpimään rintamaan liittyen. Korkeat kumpupilvet ulottuvat keskipilvien korkeudelle. Keskipilvet ovat tropiikissa 2 000–8 000 metrin, keskileveyksillä 2 000–7 000 metrin ja korkeilla leveyksillä napojen lähellä 2 000–4 000 metrin korkeudessa.
