Alfred Jules Ayer (29. lokakuuta 1910 – 27. kesäkuuta 1989) oli brittiläinen filosofi, joka tunnetaan loogisen positivismin kannattajana erityisesti teoksissaan Language, Truth and Logic (1936) ja The Problem of Knowledge (1956). Hänet tunnetaan myös verifikationismista ja emotivismista. Filosofiassa Ayer sai vaikutteita erityisesti David Humelta, Immanuel Kantilta, Wienin piiriltä, Karl Popperilta, Bertrand Russellilta ja Ludwig Wittgenstein.

Ayer oli Grote-oppituolin mielenfilosofian ja logiikan professori University College Londonissa vuodesta 1946 vuoteen 1959, jolloin hänestä tuli Wykeham-oppituolin logiikan professori Oxfordin yliopistossa. Hän toimi Aristotelian Societyn puheenjohtajana vuosina 1951–1952. Hänet aateloitiin vuonna 1970.
