Aga Khanin palatsi Intiassa.

Aga Khan on perinnöllinen arvonimi, joka kuuluu ismailiittišiiojen nizari-lahkon imaamille eli hengelliselle johtajalle.[1] Etymologisesti nimike yhdistää turkkilaisen sotilasarvon agha ja turkkilaisten ja mongolien käyttämän johtajan arvonimen kaani.

Ensimmäisenä arvonimen antoi Aga Hasan Ali Shahille Persian šaahi Fath Ali vuonna 1818.

Tällä hetkellä arvonimi on sen neljännellä kantajalla:

  1. Aga Khan I = Aga Hasan Ali Shah = Shah Hasan Ali Shah Mehalatee Aga Khan I (1800-1881), 46. imaami (1817-1881)
  2. Aga Khan II = Ali Shah Aga Khan II (noin 1830 - 1885), 47. imaami (1881-1885)
  3. Aga Khan III = Ruhtinas Sultan Mohammed, (1877-1957), 48. imaami(1885-1957)
  4. Aga Khan IV = Karim Aga Khan = HH Prince Aga Khan IV = ruhtinas Karim Al Husseini (s. 1936), 49. ismaililaisten imaami
