Acid rock eli happo-rock on rockmusiikin erityisesti 1960-luvun jälkipuoliskolla suosiossa ollut tyylilaji. Acid rock -nimeä käytetään usein kuvaamaan psykedeelisen rockin esittäjien musiikkia, jossa tyypillisiä olivat pitkät soolot, sekä suuri improvisointi, erityisesti live-esityksissä. [1]

Acid rockin nimi tulee LSD-huumeesta,[1] jonka slanginimitys on acid, eli happo. LSD ja acid rock olivat hyvin suosittuja muun muassa hippien keskuudessa ja esimerkiksi tunnettu vuoden 1969 Woodstockin musiikkifestivaali sisälsi monia acid rock -yhtyeitä.

Kirjailija ja toimittaja Tom Wolfe kuvasi muun muassa Grateful Deadin, Iron Butterflyn, Big Brother & The Holding Companyn sekä sen laulajan Janis Joplinin, Creamin, Blue Cheerin, Country Joe and the Fishin, Moby Grapen, The Jimi Hendrix Experiencen, The Doorsin, Jefferson Airplanen sekä varhaisen Pink Floydin musiikkia termillä happorock. [2]
