Balaton on järv Ungaris, Bakony'i mägede lõunajalamil. See on Ungari ja üldse kogu Kesk-Euroopa suurim järv.

Järve pikkus on 78 km ja laius kuni 14 km, Tihany'i poolsaare kohal järv aheneb. Balaton on madal – suurim sügavus 12,2 meetrit, sedagi vaid Tihany'i poolsaare kohal. Eriti madal on lõunakalda lähedane vesi. Suviti on vesi madaluse tõttu väga soe ja liivarannad sobivad hästi supluseks. Järv on populaarne turismisihtkoht.
