Richard Kirwan (1733-1812) estis irlanda kemiisto, mineralogo kaj unu el la lastaj apogantoj de la flogistona teorio, kie li diskutis en sia verko "Essay on Phlogiston and the Constitution of Acids" (1787). Li konatiĝis kun Antoine Lavoisier, Joseph Black, Joseph Priestley kaj Henry Cavendish. Li verkis pli ol tridekok sciencajn memorlibrojn pri meteorologio, pura kaj aplika kemio, geologio, magnetismo kaj filologio.
