ஏர்ன்ஸ்ட் ஹேக்கல் (Ernst Haeckel, பெப்ரவரி 16, 1834 — ஆகஸ்ட் 9, 1919), பெயர் பெற்ற ஜேர்மன் உயிரியலாளரும், இயற்கையியலாளரும், மருத்துவரும், பேராசிரியரும், ஓவியரும் ஆவார். இவர் டார்வினைப் பின்பற்றுபவர், இயற்கை விஞ்ஞானத்தின் பொருள் முதல்வாதத்தை கடைபிடிப்பவர். இனவகை தோற்ற வளர்ச்சிக்கும் (phylogenesis), தனி உயிரின் தோற்ற வளர்ச்சிக்கும் இடையேயுள்ள சம்பந்தத்தைப் பற்றிய உயிர் மரபு ரீதியான விதியை வரையறுத்தார். (ontogenesis) இவர் பல இனங்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்து, விளக்கி அவற்றுக்கு பெயர்களும் இட்டுள்ளார். எல்லா உயிரினங்களையும் உட்படுத்திய இனவழிப் படிவரிசை (genealogical tree) ஒன்றையும் இவர் உருவாக்கியுள்ளார். அத்துடன் உயிரியல் தொடர்பான பல சொற்களையும் இவர் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார். இவர் இயற்கை விஞ்ஞானத்தில் ஒரு பிற்போக்கான கருத்தோட்டமான சோஷல் டார்வினீயத்தின் நிறுவனரும், கொள்கைவாதியும் ஆவார்.[1][2][3]
