VSCO (/ˈvɪskoʊ/ ), formerly known as VSCO Cam, is a photography mobile app for iOS and Android devices. The app was created by Joel Flory and Greg Lutze.[3][4][5] The VSCO app allows users to capture photos in the app and edit them, using preset filters and editing tools.[6][7][8]
History
[edit]Visual Supply Company was founded by Joel Flory and Greg Lutze in California, in 2011.[5][9][6] VSCO was launched in 2012.[10] It raised $40 million from investors in May 2014.[11] In 2017, VSCO launched a subscription model.[12] As of 2018, Visual Supply Company has $90 million in funding from investors and over 2 million paying members.[13] In 2019, VSCO acquired Rylo, a video editing startup founded by the original developer of Instagram’s Hyperlapse.[14] Visual Supply Company has locations in Oakland, California, where it is headquartered, and Chicago, Illinois.[15][16] In December 2020 VSCO acquired AI-powered video editing app Trash.[17]
In April 2018, VSCO reached over 30 million users.[18]
In August 2024, VSCO introduced Six New Presets in honor of World Photography Day. Each one was developed in collaboration with talented photographers from around the globe and offers something exciting. Here is what is new:
1-WE1 PRO – Created by Daniel Casson (UK, landscape). 2-WE2 PRO – Conceived by John Baloy (South Africa, portrait). 3- WE3 PRO – Produced by Sandra Linnell (Sweden, nature). 4-WE4 PRO – Crafted by Jason Hunter (US, street). 5-WE5/WE5 PRO presets were developed by Adaeze Okaro (Nigeria, portrait). 6-WE6/WE6 PRO presets are inspired by Arjun Yadav (Canada, travel/street).
These presets can be found exclusively for VSCO Pro or Plus members. [19]
