Informal opt-out from third-party rollbacks

I would appreciate if you refrained from rolling back any edit made to my usertalk page by someone else including trolls, sockpuppet accounts, and other invasive types without first checking with me, and if you do anyway, I reserve the right to restore it and ask you to stop. Thanks for your understanding. The Crab Who Played With The Sea (talk) 01:24, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Latest message for Collaboration team newsletter; Growth team's newsletter invite[edit]

Hello

Sorry to use English if that's not your favorite language.

You are receiving this message because you were reading the Collaboration team newsletter.

The Collaboration team doesn't longer exists. That team was working on building features that encourage collaboration. This is the latest message for that newsletter.

The Growth Team, formed in July 2018, supports some former Collaboration projects. The Growth Team's main objective is to ease new editors' first steps on wikis, through software changes. You can discover all objectives and missions of the Growth team on its page.

If you wish to be informed about Growth team's updates about easing new users first steps, you can subscribe to the new list to get updates. The first message from Growth –with a call for feedback on a new project– will be posted in a few days!

If you have questions or you want to share experiences made on your wiki about new users' first steps, please post them on the team talk page, in any language.

On behalf of the Growth team, Trizek (WMF) (talk) 10:29, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Further Lenovo Edits - Revision to Lenovo's History Section[edit]

Hi PauAmma.

You previously reviewed some changes I proposed to the Lenovo page with a disclosed conflict of interest. I wanted to see if you were also willing to review some trims I suggested here to the extremely detailed History section. There’s no rush and we can do it in pieces, but given your prior participation, I wanted to check-in before poking around for another editor that might consider the trims. page parameter of cite book[edit]

In a recent update to Text editor you added |page=31 to a ((cite book)) template. From your comment it was clear that you meant p. 3-11, which is numbered 31 in the PDF but not in the actual manual. Either |page=3-11 with |section-url=http://bitsavers.org/pdf/univac/1100/exec/UP-4058_EXEC_II_Programmers_Ref_Man_1966.pdf#page=31 or |page=[[http://bitsavers.org/pdf/univac/1100/exec/UP-4058_EXEC_II_Programmers_Ref_Man_1966.pdf#page=31 3-11]] would be appropriate. Shmuel (Seymour J.) Metz Username:Chatul (talk) 17:41, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the hint. We'll see if it sticks until next time I need it. The Crab Who Played With The Sea (talk) 17:58, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moral character matters[edit]

It is important to have role models to form one's ethical character. Malala Yousafzai, by virtue of her parrhesia, is one of my role models. If I had my druthers, talk pages would be a place to discuss the merits (or demerits) of personalities in order to shape one's own character. I understand keeping it facts-pertinent but it is a fact that people learn how to be good through good role models. I am just trying to be a better person.

So while I am not in contention with you for reverting my edit, I do have to lodge, well, not exactly a complaint but a point of slight disagreement. If you know, whom do I make recourse to to get an exception to the WP:NOTFORUM rule? Wikipedia should be a place where we all grow morally together. The virtue policy is the only success policy. SpicyMemes123 (talk) 23:09, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your best bet, I think, is probably to start a request for comments in the talk page for What Wikipedia is not. The Crab Who Played With The Sea (talk) 23:43, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I will do that soon. SpicyMemes123 (talk) 20:55, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
