The RFCU you filed...

[edit]

I forgot to get back to you on this earlier, but RFCU expressly states that it is not meant for proving innocence, so your case was declined. MSJapan 16:45, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for not reading carefully before posting the request. Bigglove 17:25, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bigglove

I went back to the Facts on the ground article and edited for substance and balance.

I left in some strong negative comments, as well as positive ones. I deleted one negative comment that was simply wrong, the bit about "condoning" the actions at Jacob's Tomb. I went to the original book, which described the crowd as "looters". That isn't "condoning".

I also am deleting the bit about only modest Hebrew. That's stretching; clearly it's possible to do decent work about Israeli scholars (nearly all of whom are able to discuss their work in English) with modest Hebrew. On the other hand, if there were an error in the book because of something misinterpreted from the Hebrew I would think it appropriate.
This is the kind of thing best argued with solid facts. There are enough of those to make the points. Adding additional opinions that add little confuses more than strengthens the argument.

Thanks for your support! I took the easy way out of thanking everyone by stealing borrowing someone else's design...but know that I sincerely appreciate your support and confidence in me! I really appreciate your comment about taking me at my word...you can count on me to uphold that trust...! Dreadstar 07:10, 18 September 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Facts on the Ground

[edit]

I'm removing the comments about Jacob's tomb again, until somebody can verify that they're actually from Maeir's review. Please see my comments at Talk:Facts on the Ground: Archaeological Practice and Territorial Self-Fashioning in Israeli Society#Jacob's tomb. Thanks. — Malik Shabazz (Talk | contribs) 00:05, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, your remark is fair and I don't disagree with it. Bigglovetalk 00:30, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
