When working on sortable filmography tables, you do not need the template ((sortname)) when the title of the film or TV series is correctly sortable without the template. That is, in general, sortname is needed only when the title has a leading article (The, A, or An); otherwise just use a regular link. Breaking up titles unnecessarily with bars, as you did in the article Mike McShane and elsewhere, just makes a mess of the sorting. —ShelfSkewed Talk 18:35, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
