Current Focus
[edit]- Working on the Computer and video games WikiProject
- Cleaning up the World War II Online page, editing out bias and focusing on facts.
- Occasional edits on articles related to computer chess programming.
A Little About Me
[edit]- I'm a senior software designer at a 100 billion market cap company (you know the name, but I won't divulge it here), developing the networking layer of an operating system kernel.
- I have an M.S. in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara. Who wouldn't want to spend 6 years on the beach, playing with computers all day?
- I love tennis, and my favorite player is Andre Agassi.
- I'm a certified computer game geek. My favorite PC game of all time is World War II Online, though I play many others as time permits. I was also an Asheron's Call fan, though I've kicked the habit.
- I have no favorite food, I eat everything!
- I'm married to a beautiful and loving woman and have a 4-year old son.
- The first movie I actually remember seeing in theatres was Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure. Embarassing, but true.
- Even though I like a wide variety of music, my favorites genre is the Blues.
- My favorite car is the Lamborghini Gallardo, although I doubt I'll buy one soon.
- I like pets, but don't have any currently. Wife hates em!
- I like to play chess, and a hobby of mine is programming a computer chess engine. It competes at around 1600 on the Elo rating system.
My handle, Warthog, comes not from the animal, but the A-10 Thunderbolt II. I first started using the handle on World War II Online, but use it on other military-themed games, as well. Some other lucky bum grabed it for Wikipedia, so I just tacked on 32. When my memory fails, I joke it's my 32 bit brain.
