I am a young professional, navigating ways to intersect Archives, outreach, and Wikidata.
Conflict of Interest Statement: I was employed in an intern position at McGill University Archives and Library (from September 2018 to April 2019), and make paid edits to Wikidata during that time. I did not edit any Wikipedia articles on behalf of my employer.
My task was to add items and metadata about private archival fonds maintained at the McGill University archives to Wikidata. The aim was to enhance the visibility of the MUA and its collections while contributing to the existing Wikidata WikiProject Archival Description Project. The project was able to contribute ~425 new Q identifiers to Wikidata during this time, with at least 5 property-value pairs per Q identifier.
