Green Bay National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge off the tip of the Door County peninsula in Wisconsin. The refuge currently consists of three islands, Hog, Plum, and Pilot, near Washington Island in Lake Michigan. In 1913, Hog Island became the first area declared as part of the Green Bay National Wildlife Refuge. In 2007 Plum Island and Pilot Island were placed under the authority of the Fish and Wildlife Service from the United States Coast Guard. These islands were preserved as a breeding ground for endangered birds and other species native to the area. Two more islands, Spider and Gravel, are in the process of being transferred to the authority of the Fish and Wildlife Service. These five islands are under the authority of Horicon National Wildlife Refuge.
