Der Lichtblick (German pronunciation: [dɛɐ̯ ̍lɪçtblɪk], English: The Ray of Hope) is a German magazine produced by prisoners and circulated in prisons. The magazine, based at Tegel Prison in Berlin, was first published in 1968 and has a quarterly circulation of around 8,000. Of the roughly 60 prison magazines in Germany, Der Lichtblick claims to be the only one completely independent of oversight from the prison management.[1]
