Thomas Matthew Nowatzke (born September 30, 1942) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) from 1965 through 1972.[1]

Biography

He played college football for the Indiana Hoosiers, earning All-American honors despite playing on a 2–7 Hoosiers team. [2] The Detroit Lions selected him in the first round with the 11th overall pick in the 1965 NFL draft. He scored a touchdown for the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl V.[3] He was inducted into the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. He now runs a truck and trailer repair shop in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.[4] He is the uncle of former BYU wide receiver Tim Nowatzke. [5]
